Uroboros Project
Wesker's plan to launch missiles with the Uroboros virus across the globe.

It involves a new strain of virus named Uroboros, created using a flower found in a cave in West Africa, which was the source of viruses previously used by the Umbrella Corporation. The project was developed by Tricell, the company funding the BSAA, which took over a former Umbrella underground laboratory and continued Umbrella's research. The ultimate goal of the project, as revealed in the game, was for Albert Wesker to launch missiles containing the Uroboros virus across the globe, hoping to take a chosen few from the chaos of infection and rule them, creating a new breed of humanity.

Lore & Background
The Uroboros virus was developed in a cave that was the source of a flower used to create viruses previously used by the Umbrella Corporation. Tricell, the company funding the BSAA, took over a former Umbrella underground laboratory and continued Umbrella's research, leading to the creation of the Uroboros strain. In the facility, thousands of capsules holding human test subjects were discovered. The project's ultimate aim was for Tricell CEO Excella Gionne and Albert Wesker to launch missiles with the Uroboros virus across the globe. It was eventually revealed that Wesker hoped to take a chosen few from the chaos of infection and rule them, creating a new breed of humanity.
In Their Own Story
Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar discovered the Uroboros Project while investigating a terrorist threat in Kijuju, West Africa. They found evidence that Tricell had taken over a former Umbrella underground laboratory and continued Umbrella's research, creating the Uroboros virus. In the facility, they discovered thousands of capsules holding human test subjects. Chris found Jill Valentine's capsule, but it was empty. Later, they discovered that Tricell CEO Excella Gionne had been plotting with Albert Wesker to launch missiles with the Uroboros virus across the globe. Chris and Sheva pursued Gionne but were stopped by Wesker and a brainwashed Jill. After subduing Jill and removing her mind-control device, Chris and Sheva boarded a Tricell oil tanker. Wesker announced over the ship's intercom that he had betrayed Gionne and infected her with Uroboros, causing her to mutate into a giant monster, which Chris and Sheva defeated. Chris and Sheva followed Wesker to a bomber loaded with missiles containing the Uroboros virus. They injected him with syringes of a serum he needed to maintain his strength, then disabled the bomber, causing him to crash-land in a volcano. Wesker exposed himself to Uroboros and chased Chris and Sheva through the volcano. They fought him, and the weakened Wesker fell into the lava. As a dying Wesker attempted to drag the rescue helicopter into the volcano, Chris and Sheva fired rocket-propelled grenades at Wesker, killing him and the Uroboros.
