Lore & Background

Sherry Birkin is the daughter of William and Annette Birkin. Her father, William, created the G-virus for Umbrella. When an Umbrella Security Service team tried to steal the virus, William injected himself with it, turning into a malformed creature. He then chased Sherry because of her genetic make-up. Sherry is found by Claire Redfield, who protects her. Later, Sherry loses a golden pendant while running away; Ada Wong picks it up. The pendant contains a sample of the G-virus. Sherry is reunited with Claire, and they discover that William has implanted Sherry with an embryo to produce offspring. Annette tells Claire how to create a vaccine that stops the mutations caused by the embryo. Claire prepares the cure and injects Sherry with it on an emergency escape train, saving her life.

In Their Own Story

The rain slicks the cobblestones of Raccoon City, reflecting the flickering orange glow of burning buildings. Sherry clutches her backpack, her breath hitching in the cold air as the distant roar of a mutated creature echoes from the alley ahead. She looks back one last time at the clock tower, now shattered and silent, before Claire grabs her hand. His grip is firm, grounding her against the rising tide of chaos. "Stay close," she whispers, her voice cutting through the screams of the dying city. In that moment, Sherry knows she is no longer just a scientist's daughter; she is a survivor in a world gone mad.
